Hii I am Luna, I am 20 years old and I just graduated from the sport school. I went to Saint Lucia for 6 weeks with 2 friends to give sports lessons to the children there😋

How satisfied were you with the support before departure?

Before we went to St. Lucia we contacted Ruben and he told us more about the places we could go to and what they do there. This way we could see what suited us best.

He helped us step by step in this process and when we finally knew that we were going to St. Lucia, we got in touch with Joël. He supervises the interns in St. Lucia and he gave us all the information about what to expect, what to bring, what needs to be arranged in advance and what your day there looks like😁

You could always ask questions, which made the guidance very pleasant🫶🏼

The 6 weeks we had there were unforgettable. You meet a lot of nice people, you build a bond with the children you teach. They really appreciate you and are enthusiastic that you are there.

In addition, you get to know and appreciate a culture that is very different from the Netherlands. The locals are super nice, which also makes you build a bond with them.

On Fridays we always had excursion days. We then went with the group to do all kinds of fun activities such as ziplining, visiting waterfalls, water parks and much more.

In addition, you have enough free time to do fun things together, which also made the group very close.

What advice would you give to those who come after you?

Don’t be afraid to come alone. Everyone is in the same boat and you will meet so many nice people. Also bring enough sports gear and clothes for your free time. Because that’s enough
